About the Founder
At 52, Jyoti infuses Anitya Drapes with her lifelong passion for India’s rich textile and cultural heritage. Growing up amid her family’s defence postings, she absorbed the unique weaving techniques, motifs, and colour palettes of each region. Those early experiences shaped her eye for craftsmanship and inspired her to showcase the best of India’s handloom traditions.
An avid painter, Jyoti finds creative resonance between brushstrokes and thread work. She studies the interplay of light and shadow on canvas, then translates that sensibility into selecting sarees whose patterns tell a story of place and people.
Through thoughtfully designed pop-up exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and collaborative showcases, Jyoti bridges the gap between rural weavers and global customers. Her vision is simple but profound: to honour each artisan’s story, celebrate India’s living traditions, and create meaningful connections - one saree and one shared meal at a time.
